How do I extract text from an image?
Choose Extract Text, drag a box over the text, and it is copied to your clipboard. The recognition runs on your device, so it works offline and nothing is uploaded.
Works on anything you can see: text inside an image, a screenshot someone sent you, a video frame, a PDF preview.
Choose Extract Text
From the tools list on the Capture tab, or press Ctrl+Shift+T.
Drag over the text
Draw a box around the words you want. Tighter boxes give cleaner results.
Paste
A toast says "Extracting text", then "Text copied to clipboard". Paste it anywhere.
If it says "No text found"
The box did not contain readable text. Try a larger box, zoom the page so the letters are bigger, or pick a region with higher contrast.
Privacy
Recognition uses a text-recognition engine bundled inside the extension. The image never leaves your computer.
