What are the Capture and Record tabs?
The popup has two tabs. Capture holds the screenshot modes and tools; Record holds recording sources, microphone and camera. Settings picks which opens first.
Click the Webshot button and the popup opens on one of two tabs.
Capture
The top row holds the three screenshot modes: Visible Part, Entire Page and Selected Area. Below them sit the tools: Delayed Screenshot, Element Capture, Desktop Screenshot, Enable Webpage Editing, Remove Component, Extract Text and Open Screenshot Editor. An After Capture dropdown decides what happens to a screenshot: open the editor, download it, or upload it.
Record
Choose a source (Desktop, Camera, This Tab, or a custom region of this tab), pick your microphone and camera, switch tab sound on or off, and press Start. A More drawer holds the countdown, microphone reminder and auto-stop options.
The menu
The menu in the popup's corner opens Preferences, About, Feedback and the Permissions page.
Choosing which tab opens first
Preferences has a Default Popup Tab setting: Capture, Record, or Last Used. Last Used is the default, so the popup reopens where you left it.
