What happens after a screenshot?

By default the screenshot opens in the Webshot editor in a new tab. The After Capture setting can download it straight away instead, or upload it to get a share link.

The After Capture dropdown on the Capture tab, mirrored in Preferences, has three choices.

Screenshot Editor (default)

The capture opens at webshot.net/editor in a new tab, where you can crop, annotate, blur and export. The image is passed from the extension to the editor inside your browser; it is not uploaded to reach the editor.

Download Now

The file goes straight to your downloads, in the format and quality set in Preferences (PNG by default). Prompt Save Location, on by default, lets you choose the folder each time.

Upload to Server

The capture is uploaded and you get a link to share. This is the only choice that sends a screenshot anywhere. See How do I share a screenshot link?.

Reopening the latest capture

Open Screenshot Editor in the tools list, or Ctrl+Alt+E, opens the editor with your most recent screenshot. Only the latest one is kept; the next capture replaces it.
