What is Webshot?

Webshot is a free browser extension that takes screenshots and records your screen, with an editor, on-device text extraction and no account to create.

Webshot lives as a button in your browser toolbar. Click it and you get two tabs: Capture for screenshots and Record for video. Everything it makes stays on your computer unless you choose to upload it.

What it does

  • Screenshots of the visible area, the whole scrolling page, a region you drag, or a single element you click.
  • Recordings of the current tab, a region of it, your desktop, or just your camera, with a microphone, a camera bubble, and live annotation, blur and cursor effects.
  • A built-in editor for screenshots and a video editor that adds automatic zooms toward your clicks.
  • Text extraction from any part of the screen, done on your device.

What it does not need

  • No account or sign-in.
  • No analytics or usage tracking.
  • No internet connection for capturing, recording or extracting text.
