What is different on Firefox?

On Firefox, Webshot records the desktop or camera only, in a visible tab, with no tab audio. Screenshots, the editor and text extraction work the same.

Firefox gives extensions fewer recording APIs than Chromium browsers, so the Record tab offers less there. Everything on the Capture tab is the same.

Recording on Firefox

  • Sources are Desktop and Camera. There is no This Tab or custom-region mode.
  • There is no tab or system audio. Your microphone still records.
  • The recording runs in a separate, visible tab that Webshot opens and closes for you. Keep it open until the recording is saved.
  • The camera bubble works as the in-page overlay. There is no picture-in-picture window for it, because Firefox has no PiP API.
  • Auto Zoom works on desktop recordings.

Screenshots on Firefox

All three modes and every tool work. Desktop Screenshot shows a Start Capture step first, then the browser's own screen picker.

Firefox for Android

Not supported. Webshot is a desktop extension on Firefox 128 and later.
